Note: This time of year is always very busy for me. Last year, I hadn't really started blogging yet, so I was able to keep myself above the craziness. This year, I am. My blog is slightly inactive due to the holiday craze. Hopefully will return to the regular posting after the new year. :)

Maximum Ride: The Angel Experiment (DOTA Challenge)

Maximum Ride: The Angel Experiment by James Patterson

The Angel Experiment is about six kids, all of which have been genetically mutated. All in all, the plot mainly follows the "family" and their experiences running from deadly werewolves, which are called Erasers.
I have a severe love/hate relationship with this book. I can't decide if it's too repetive, (Ex. The Erasers catch the family, the family flies away.) or if I adore the fact that I could so easily grow to love each and every member of the flock.
Overall, the book was good, but it wasn't really my thing.

10 random things about me:

I realized earlier today that, other than my profile, you guys know next to nothing about me. So I decided to do a "random things about me" post. Hope you guys enjoy!

1. I don't like chocolate ice cream.
I can't stand the stuff at all. To me, it doesn't taste like chocolate. What exactly I think it tastes like? Well, I'm not positive. I just know it's too bitter for me.

2. I'm a girl and I despise the color pink.
Sure, I'm not the only one out there, but there's not many I know of. My favorite color is actually blue. Let me clarify something: I don't link pink, but I'm not a tomboy. I'm not really girly, either. I'm just me. Labels are not cool, kay?

3. I'm not fond of labels.
I know I sort of said this in the last one, but I'm going to add it anyways. So this is what I have to say about the matter: I'm not a soup can. I wasn't made with a label, there is no one exactly like me, and I'm not polished to a perfection.

4. I listen to music you've probably never heard of.
That includes Matt and Kim, Kate Nash, and Death Cab for Cutie. Although, you might've heard of the last one, because a few songs by that band have been on the Twilight movies. I've recently been obsessing over The Maine and Breaking Benjamin.
Maybe I'll do a post on music in the future. xD

5. I have a sock monkey named Darby.
Yes, this one was very random, but that's alright. Why is my sock monkey named Darby? Well, originally, I was going to name it Dobby after, you guessed it, Dobby the house elf. But I thought it would be sort of weird to name it Dobby, and I wanted it to be a girl(I'm immature, alright?) monkey.
So I started to mess around with the spelling and came up with Dabby, which sounded odd. It eventually got changed to Darby. :D

6. I have a slight obsession with nail polish.
It's nowhere near as big as my book obsession, but I like nail polish. I majorly suck at painting my right hand, though. My favorite colors have got to be a tie between two Nicole by OPI nail polishes, in "Positive Energy" and "Respect the World."

7. Twitter is fun.
Yeah, I only made one yesterday, just to follow a couple of people, but everyone I've talked to on there are very nice. I feel very welcomed. *smile*

8. I'm an only child.
Which means I'm just the slightest bit spoiled. Not rotten though.
Of course, I know that's only going to make me sound like I'm just denying it, which in turn makes me look more rotten. I pinky-swear though. *holds up pinky.*

9. I'm silly.
Yeah, I'm pretty sure that the whole pinky-swear thing and sock monkey thing gave that away, but it's true. The fact that I'm wearing fuzzy socks right now doesn't help a thing. *wiggles toes and giggles.*

10. I'm terrified of...a lot of stuff.
I'm pretty sure that if you trapped me in a tiny, see through box(so that I could see what was going on) with a spider, on the edge of a very tall building with an evil clown trying to push me off this height, while making me look into a mirror, I would have a heart attack. That essentially means I'm afraid of:
Spiders
Small Spaces
Heights
Clowns
Mirrors

And that means I have these phobias(in order of list above):
Arachnephobia
Claustrophobia
Acrophobia
Coulrophobia
Eisoptrophobia

...yeah, I'm a baby..

My addiction..

Here goes. *stands up.* My name is Brielle and I'm addicted to books, but we both knew that, didn't we?

Yes, I did buy more books. Quite a few more books. Seven, to give you an actual number. Three of them haven't yet arrived, but I ordered them and they should be here soon.

Already Have:

 Hush, Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick

I got this a little while ago. I've started it, and so far it's pretty awesome. It's definitely on the top of my TBR pile, considering the sequel's already out.

If I Stay by Gale Forman

I've been wanting to read this for a while. I saw it last year, but seeing as I had never heard of it before, I didn't get it. I seriously regret that now.
I've seen so many positive reviews of this book, and characters from this book showing up on favorite lists. I've had to kick myself each and every time for not buying it when I had the chance.
I'm sure I'm sounding a bit melodramatic, but I could not get my hands on it at all. It was all very frustrating.
Oh, random question, did anyone else freak out just the slightest (or largest, in my case.) bit thinking that the cover was cut or something? I thought someone had cut the cover, exposing the next page, but all of the copies were like that. The shattered glass on the next page is gorgeous, though. xD

Being Dead by Vivian Vande Velde

Mainly got this one because I wanted something to read when I was craving something creepy. The writing in this one is pretty nice, but I only read a page or two, so I'm not positive about it being gruesome or not.

Vivian Vande Velde, what an interesting name! I'm not sure if it was actually her birth name, or if it was a pen name, but either way its definitely unique.

Claire de Lune by Christine Johnson

Confession Time: I picked up this book because it was named after one of my favorite classical pieces. And the cover was amazing.
Although, I bought this book because the back blurb was interesting. It's about a girl learning that she's a werewolf, if you were wondering.

Books I ordered:

Spilling Ink by Anne Mazer and Ellen Potter

What can I say? I like writing.

Bar Code Tattoo by Suzanne Weyn

Once again, I'm late. But this book looks fantastic and I can't wait until it gets here.

Magic Under Glass by Jaclyn Dolamore

I saw this on another blog and decided to buy it myself. I loved the idea of the leading female being the one to save the trapped male. It's nice to have things flipped around for a change.

New books?

Yes, I did get some new books. Only five so far, but I do believe I will be getting some money from my parents, which I will buy at least one book with and maybe a sims 2 expansion pack. Would you like to hear what I got yet? Alright.

These first two books I got for Christmas, from my cousin Josie. Thanks!

Radiance by Alison Noel

Yes, I did mention this in a blog before. I'm still reading this one, but I'll get a review out ASAP.

Could I just ask a question? Does anyone else love the way certain parts of Alison Noel's covers feel? They have a smooth, sort of....unusual feel. I have no clue how else to describe it.

The Other Side by J.D. Robb (and various others)

I had never seen this book before, but I'm interested in reading it. It's basically paranormal stories.

These next two books I bought.

Radiant Shadows by Melissa Marr

No, this isn't the first book in the series. No, I don't own the other ones. No, I haven't even read them.
While I'd like to own these, I haven't seen them anywhere, which is probably why I bought the last book. I guess it's time to make the trip to Barnes and Noble. I love going there, but we don't actually go very often, considering it's a little bit of a drive. And I always end up spending every dollar I bring with me. I can't help it, I have a problem. I'm addicted to books.
There's actually a bit of a funny story behind buying this book, so maybe I'll post it up soon.

Heartsick by Chelsea Cain

Alright, I'll admit it. The main thing that caused me to buy this was that the cover is so interestingly dark and beautiful. It's bright red, but the black edges and the damaged look just gives it depth.

The book does sound interesting, but I'm frightened about it's contents. It's an adult book, so I have no clue what might be in there. I'm going to be mature, and attempt to read it, at least, but being a fourteen year old girl, I don't want to read anything dirty or inappropriate.

The last book on the list was given to me for my birthday, from my best friend. Thanks Riley!

The gift by James Patterson

Oh, my lord. I actually own a copy of The Gift. *squeal*
Alright, my fangirl attack is over. I've been dying to get this, though.

And you know, Riley was dropping little hints about what she got me, saying she got me "my birthday gift." or that she had already bought my "gift." I never even caught on. I did, however, think it was odd that she was saying gift instead of present. It just sounded awkward, but I kept shrugging it off.
Next time, I watching out for book titles in her sentences. *laughs*
Anyways, thanks Riley. You can check out her blog here. She writes about books too.

Team L, birthdays, and randomness.

So, I'm going to be nice and warn you beforehand, this is going to be random.

I've recently re-discovered the wonderful thing called Death Note. Surprise, surprise, I still love it. Of course, I love it a lot more now. When I actually knew what it was, I was watching it on TV and had next to no clue what was going on. A couple of years later, I found some of the manga at my library, which was awesome, even though they weren't allowed for check out.
Now the TV series has popped up again, and I must say, I've gotten very into it. I'm becoming quite obsessed with the entire thing, especially L. And before you ask, I know what happens to him. I'll give you this strawberry if you keep it a secret (Yes, I just quoted L.), and never, ever mention it again.
However, I cannot even begin to explain how infuriating the show can be at times, between Light and the notebook. It gets confusing, but only starting somewhere near episode seventeen. There's this entire thing where suddenly, the entire plot just shifts. It was quite odd. Then again, if you aren't paying attention to the things that are going on, you'll be helplessly lost anyways.
And I love L and his sugar, and how he sits, and how his pupils are gigantic, and..
Well, I could go on forever. *giggle*

My birthday is coming up soon, and quite frankly, I'm not ready for it. No, not in the sense of I don't feel another year older yet, more of I'm not actually ready for it. My parents haven't made any arrangements, I don't really have anything planned, and...
It's just all a mess, alright?

Although, Riley, I promise you. We shall have a cheese puff high, discuss Death note (My L would like to meet your L.), and just act stupid. I think this is a grand idea, how about you?

Well, seeing as the sun is beginning to come up, I think I shall go to sleep now. Goodni- er...morning? Eh, I'll just say sweet dreams. Bye!
